Your Chieftain Band performed well despite the severe inclement weather, which led to equipment malfunctions and the inability of some instrumentalists with delicate instruments to perform. We are proud of their season and all its successes!
Awards
Your Chieftain Band earned straight division 1's (superior) from all judges. This means they advance to Area contest in Amarillo from November 1-2. Wish them luck as they prepare over the coming two weeks!
Awards
The band had a great experience at the US Bands San Angelo Regional Marching Contest. They earned second place in Group II, as well as an impressive Best Visuals in Group II. Our new Freshmen got to see what a contest experience is like, from uniform preparation through to unload at the Band Hall. The entire process ran smoothly (and I don’t think I have EVER seen a group of kids SO excited to eat at Cici’s Pizza before…).
Performance
I heard many supportive comments from the audience. One overheard conversation involved an audience member saying, “A mariachi feature?! That’s it - Lake View killed it.” Other comments were of a similar, kind tone. The kids should be very proud of themselves for such a good, energy-filled performance. The judges were all very impressed with their work, and gave a lot of valuable feedback.
Concessions
Thank you to everyone who donated - we exceeded our expectations and I hear from the Boosters that we made a good profit from the event. Thank you to everyone who volunteered, we filled all volunteer time slots and it helped the event run smoothly.
